The suspension is specially tuned for enhanced off-road performance, with increased ride height to help you rise above rocky terrain. The standard Torsen® limited-slip rear axle helps improve traction in even the most challenging conditions.

The 2026 Explorer® comes with two engine options: 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 & 3.0L EcoBoost® V6. Whatever terrain you find, stay in control with six available drive modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, and either Trail or Off-Road, depending on the model.
Standard on all models, side-wind stabilization is designed to help you keep your vehicle on its path in high or gusty winds. Working with AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™), trailer sway control brakes and adjusts engine power to help you stay in command39.
