2020 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Convertible Features and Specs

Even though the Ford Mustang is known for V8 power, the iconic sports car is also offered with a turbocharged four-cylinder. You’ll find the unique engine in the EcoBoost model – the well-kept secret of the Mustang lineup.

2020 Ford Mustang EcoBoost convertible features and specs

Sports cars are more enjoyable with the top down. That’s why the 2020 Ford Mustang EcoBoost is available as a fun-in-the-sun convertible. The turbocharged pony car boasts a long list of features and specs you’ll want to know about.

Design

Like the rest of the Mustang lineup, the EcoBoost features retro-styling with a modern twist. Key exterior attributes include a wide-mouth grille, hood vents and LED headlights.

Dropping the top reveals the well-laid-out interior with its sporty bucket seats and cloth upholstery. Active noise cancelation is included to minimize the road noise that often afflicts convertibles. Plus, amenities – such as dual-zone climate control and power-adjustable seating – are available.

Underneath the Mustang, you’ll find and independent rear suspension and selectable-effort power steering. There’s also an optional MagneRide® Dampening System that adjusts the suspension in response to changing road conditions. A set of 17-inch wheels and tires keep the car in contact with the road.

Performance

As was mentioned, the 2020 Ford Mustang EcoBoost is powered by a 2.3L turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. Even though it’s got half as many cylinders as a V8, the boosted powerplant cranks out a healthy 310 hp and 350 lb.-ft. Torque is routed to the rear wheels through either a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. The sports car comes with several track-centric features such as launch control (manual transmission-equipped models only) and electronic line-lock. You can also check the box for a 3.31 limited-slip rear axle and a selectable drive mode system.

It’s easy to monitor your performance at the track, too. The standard Track Apps feature records parameters, such as acceleration and lap times, and makes the data available on a digital display.

Technology

Although the EcoBoost is considered the entry-level Mustang, it comes nicely equipped. The SYNC touch-screen multimedia center is standard, as is onboard Wi-Fi and a rearview camera. You can also choose to upgrade to the SYNC® 3 infotainment system, which has support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Plenty of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are available as well. The lineup includes:

Adaptive Cruise Control with Rain-Sensing Wipers

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support

Lane Keep Assist

Reverse Sensing

With the Mustang EcoBoost, you can have fun at the track during the weekend, while also having a comfortable weekday commute.
