2023 Bakersfield Marathon

Active Bakersfield Alliance invites you to join the Sixth Bakersfield Marathon presented by Dignity Health on March 25 & 26, 2023. This year nearly 2,000 runners will turn out and run the streets of Bakersfield. In addition to giving local runners an opportunity to run a Boston-qualifying marathon in their own backyard, it’s exciting to welcome runners from across the U.S. and around the world.

The Bakersfield Marathon has a race for everyone including a scenic Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 6K – all running the streets of Bakersfield. There is a distance to challenge new and experienced runners alike.

Our USATF Marathon kicks off at 7:00am with the additional races starting shortly after. Participants will run through dozens of iconic neighborhoods and landmarks including La Cresta, Bakersfield College, Panorama Bluffs, Oleander, Downtown Bakersfield, Garces Circle, Westchester, and the Kern River Parkway before returning to celebrate at the Kern County Museum.

All races start and end on the campus of the Kern County Museum. Information regarding road closures will be mailed to adjacent homes and businesses. Learn more by going to the City Impact page at Bakersfield.run.
