2018 Ford F-150 available technology features

As there are some many ways to specify and configure a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck, it would probably take a book the size of War and
Peace to document all the available features. As pickups like the Ford F-150 become more and more like
utilitarian workhorses these days, technology features play an increasingly
important part. Once again, if we took a top of the range F-150 Limited or
Raptor and tried to list and describe all the tech features that are available
or come standard we'd probably need another book. So, here are some of the
technology features that are available for the 2018 F-150.
8-inch Productivity
Screen
We're all used to screens playing a dominant role on the
dashboards of our vehicles these days, but a pickup truck driver needs to know
information the drivers of cars and other passenger vehicles probably don't
have to trouble themselves with. That's why the F-150 has the available
8-inch LCD productivity screen that provides useful information about
everything from fuel economy to towing data. All the relevant information is
displayed right in front of the driver on the instrument cluster. The home
screen can be customized using the six menu options of My View, Trip/Fuel,
Truck Info, Towing, Off-Road and Settings. You can access your most frequently
used screens all in one place, and this feature is standard in F-150 Lariat,
King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trims levels only.
FordPass
FordPass is basically a phone app that operates as a
one-stop destination for helping you move more freely throughout your working
day. The app allows you to find, reserve and pay for parking in advance;
compare fuel prices at gas stations along your route; keep up to date with key
vehicle info such as the service schedule; lock, unlock and start the vehicle
remotely; and even get friendly, useful help from a FordGuide.
Sync Connect powered
by FordPass
With the available Sync Connect feature in your F-150 it
allows you to use the FordPass system to track the location of your vehicle and
remotely access a number of useful features, such as start, lock and unlock,
and to receive vehicle status updates including the amount of fuel in the tank.
It also allows you to schedule specific times for remotely start your F-150 so
it’s ready to hit the road as soon as you are and prepped the way you want it
to be.
Remote Tailgate
Release
It's not just drivers of luxury sedans who don’t have to get
their hands dirty opening the trunk anymore as there's now a remote tailgate
option for the F-150. This feature lets you lock or unlock the tailgate with
the key fob or with the switch located inside the door. And this is just one of
the the features that redefine the work space of the F-150 pickup bed, such as
the integrated tailgate step with lift assist and the deployable box steps.
360-Degree Camera
with Split-View Display
This incredibly useful available system uses four cameras in
the grille, tailgate, and under each of the side view mirrors to allow drivers to
see all sides of the truck by stitching the images together and displaying them
on a screen in the center stack. It’s particularly useful when maneuvering in
tight spaces and on wilderness trails, and also helpful is the included hitch
assist feature giving a dynamic sight line to help direct your hitch ball to
the trailer receiver.
