How fuel efficient is the 2019 Ford Transit Connect?
At Southern California Ford Dealers, we understand that if you rely on a passenger van for your business or organization, fuel costs are a major concern. In the past, vans made you give up decent fuel economy if you wanted extra passenger and cargo volume. Thankfully, Ford dealers in Southern California now offers the 2019 Ford Transit Connect, a passenger van that offers both great gas mileage and room for up to seven passengers. Let's take a closer look at this exciting new small passenger wagon from the experts at Ford.
Power and Fuel Economy
Unlike other vans on the market, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect combines both power and excellent fuel economy. The new 2.0-liter GDI I-4 engine features a sequential electronic direct fuel injection system and puts out 150 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 144 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,500 rpm. When you pair this engine with the new eight-speed SelectShift automatic transmission you can expect an EPA estimated of up to 29-mpg highway and 24-mpg city in fuel economy.* If that wasn't impressive enough, later this year Ford will roll out the 1.5-liter EcoBlue TC DI diesel engine. To give you and your passengers a great ride, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect comes with a front independent MacPherson strut suspension, twist-beam rear suspension, and electric power-assisted steering. This passenger wagon also offers 2,000 pounds in towing, 167.1 cubic feet in passenger volume, and a maximum payload of up to 1,350 pounds.
Because you'll be transporting five to seven passengers, safety is a big part of what makes the 2019 Ford Transit Connect so attractive. No matter which trim you choose, this passenger wagon includes an array of the latest safety features such as:
- Rear View Camera
- Airbags, frontal: Driver and Front Passenger
- Front Seat Side Airbags: Driver and Front Passenger
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
- Torque Vectoring Control
On top of these features you also get the Safety Canopy system that includes side-curtain airbags that deploy downward and outward and roll-fold technology that helps the airbag slide between the glass and occupant. Finally the Safety Canopy System doesn't interfere with properly installed child-safety seats!
Technology and Comfort
While you're saving on fuel costs, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect doesn't make you sacrifice comfort. There are a wide variety of standard and available tech and luxury features that will make everyone want to ride in your Transit Connect including:
- Carpeted Floor Covering - First and Second-Row
- In-Cluster Message center
- Rear Cargo/3rd Row Floor Cover – Carpet
- FordPass Connect
- Connected Data Services enabled by Ford Telematics
- Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert
- SYNC 3 with 6.5-inch LCD Touch Screen with Navigation
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
- Heated front seats for driver and front passenger
- Leather-seated power 6-way adjustable driver’s seat with manual lumbar
