What's the difference between Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus?

When shopping for a Ford sedan or hatchback, you might start to wonder what’s the difference between the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus. At first glance they look quite similar. As you start digging into the details, you’ll realize the two cars fill different roles. With that kind of understanding you’ll know which vehicle you should get through Southern California Ford Dealers.

When it comes to looks, both the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus are real head-turners. Both can be had as a traditional sedan or more functional hatchback, depending on your preference.

Even though the designs match in some ways, there are other clear differences. The Ford Fiesta is a subcompact model, and so it’s smaller than the compact Ford Focus. You get more passenger space in the Ford Focus, even though both seat up to five. The cargo area is also larger, so you have more room for shopping trips, road excursions, and life’s surprises.

To personalize the appearance of the Ford Fiesta, there are seven different wheel options. With the Ford Focus, the selection expands to ten wheel designs. And while the Ford Fiesta ST has a sporty look, the Ford Focus has its own ST model, plus the limited-edition RS, which both scream athleticism at first glance.

Ford Fiesta vs Focus

Speaking of performance, you can have a lot of fun behind the wheel of the Ford Fiesta or Ford Focus. Both cars handle well and can accelerate in a hurry, so you’re always ready for surprises on the road.

With the Ford Fiesta, you can get a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine or the ST model’s more potent 1.6-liter EcoBoost. There’s a wider range of engine options for the Ford Focus, including a 1.0-liter EcoBoost, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, the beefy 2.0-liter EcoBoost for the ST, or the earth-shattering 2.3-liter EcoBoost for the RS. You get greater performance with the Ford Focus, but the Ford Fiesta is even more efficient with its use of fuel.

If you’re interested in a zero-emissions vehicle, the Ford Focus Electric is a wonderful solution. It can go 115 miles on a charge, so using the car to commute, run errands, or whatever else is practical.

Comforts in your vehicle matter, since they can transform what would be a stressful drive into a more enjoyable experience. Both cars can be outfitted with different amenities, but once more they’re not exactly the same.

One difference is that the Ford Focus Titanium features an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, plus four-way adjustable head restraints. That’s not something you can get with the Ford Fiesta, since the Titanium model only has a six-way power driver’s seat and two-way head restraints.

With the Ford Fiesta Titanium, the car has automatic temperature control. You just set what temperature you want the interior to be and the system takes care of the rest. The Ford Focus goes one step further with available dual-zone automatic temperature control. You and your passenger don’t need to agree on a setting since you each can choose your own personal setting.
