Ford F-150, Mustang and SYNC3 Top the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

There are only a few things in life that are more
frustrating than owning a car or technology that you can't rely on. It might
look fancy and shiny, but if it leaves you stranded or lost it's not worth a
dime. That's why the team at Southern California Ford Dealers
is so excited about the Ford F-150,
Ford
Mustang, and SYNC®
3 system topping the 2020 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study. As you might
know, since 1968, J.D. Power has been the global customer experience
benchmarking authority. Their yearly ratings and awards direct millions of
people to the right product especially when it comes to cars, trucks, and SUVs.
Southern California Ford Dealers thought it would be a perfect time to take a
closer look at the 2020 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, and why our
products made the cut.
Highlights from the J.D.
Power Vehicle Dependability Study
This year's dependability study from J.D. Power measures problems experienced during the
past 12 months by original owners of three-year-old model-year vehicles. The
2020 study shows that overall Ford ranks in the top-10 of brand rankings as
well the Ford F-150 tops the large light-duty pickup truck segment and Ford
Mustang takes the top spot in the sporty midsize car segment. Ford's exclusive SYNC® 3 made a big leap as it vaulted up six
spots from last year’s study and now is in a third-place tie among all
automakers for dependability. According to Linda Cash, Ford VP of Quality
and New Model Launch Program,
"…high
quality means more than a great experience in the first few months of
ownership; it includes a great experience throughout a customer’s ownership
journey, and these results affirm our commitment to building high-quality
vehicles."
Ford F-150 and Ford
Mustang
It’s no surprise
the Ford F-150 and the Ford Mustang made the 2020 J.D. Power Vehicle
Dependability Study. As America's
best-selling truck and the world's best-selling sports coupe, these two
vehicles are synonymous with style, toughness, and power.
The latest Ford-150 pickup truck is available in seven trim
levels and features a high-strength,
military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and high-strength steel frame. For those
who need a truck that is both dependable and perfect for work and play, the
2020 Ford-150 offers best-in-class payload of 13,200 pounds in towing, and the
optional high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® engine that produces a best-in-class 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of
torque. If you are a sports car enthusiast, then the 2020 Ford Mustang brings
the heat with six available engines including a 5.2L Supercharged Cross Plane Crank V8 that kicks out an astounding 760
horsepower at 7,300 rpm and 625 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,000 rpm.
SYNC® 3
The SYNC®
3 is Ford's next-gen voice-activated infotainment system that makes the driving
experience easier, safer and more enjoyable. It ranks so high in the 2020 J.D.
Power Vehicle Dependability Study because it is flexible, easily updatable, and
configurable to your needs. Some of its top features include connected
navigation, connected voice, larger screens, and Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™ compatibility.
