Ford, Lincoln Rank Among Top Five Brands in J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study

Every year,
global market research company, J.D. Power, releases their ranking for
automotive brands in the United States based on initial quality. For the J.D.
Power 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study, both Ford and Lincoln have been rated as
top five brands in America.
Here’s what the
study is all about and which Ford vehicles have been singled out for their
initial quality, brought to you by your Southern
California Ford Dealers.
The J.D. Power
2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study
More than
76,000 vehicle owners were surveyed between February and May 2019. Questions
were asked related to their first 90 days of ownership, specifically about any
repairs or concerns that had arisen early on. Then, each car brand was ranked
based on the fewest number of problems within the 90-day initial ownership
period.
Ford and
Lincoln owners responded among the best in the industry. Both nameplates
achieved well above the industry average, placing them both in the top five
carmakers in the United States in initial quality.
Standout 2019
Ford Models
A handful of
Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs were recognized among the best in their classes for
initial quality.
Ford Fusion
Ford cars were
represented well by the midsize Fusion. It has three different powertrain
options for efficient motoring along with an excellent range of technologies in
its trim levels. The latest in Ford Co-Pilot360 Driver-Assist technologies,
SYNC 3 infotainment, timeless looks, and available Hybrid engines make it a
great choice.
Ford Ranger
The all-new
2019 Ford Ranger has arrived and it’s the highest-ranked midsize pickup truck
in initial quality. Available 4WD, best-in-class payload and towing, a powerful
2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, and Ford Co-Pilot360 technologies set the Ranger
apart from the competition.
Ford Escape
The
ever-popular Escape is in the top three models in an elbow-room-only segment.
Easily configurable cargo space, available Intelligent 4WD, three engine choices,
four trim levels with tons of great equipment, and advanced driver-assist
technologies keep the Escape high on the list.
Ford Flex
The
seven-passenger Ford Flex offers comfort and cargo space without giving up an
ounce of style. Available options like a power liftgate, Intelligent Access
with Push-Button Start, SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
compatibility, and the available 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine are reasons for
the Flex’s success.
Ford Expedition
Ford’s
full-size SUV, the Expedition, stands out as a KBB.com Best Buy Award winner
also. Best-in-class second- and third-row legroom, standard SYNC 3
infotainment, a versatile Cargo Management System, massive Panoramic Vista
Roof, and best-in-class towing make the Expedition a solid buy.
Ford F-150
America’s
best-selling pickup truck of all time is also in the top three in initial
quality. An engine lineup with six options, high-strength military-grade
aluminum body, Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technologies, and a range of
trims to suit any style and budget make the F-150 a no-brainer. The supremely
powerful Ford Super Duty trucks are also high in initial quality.
