Meet the All-New 2020 Ford Escape Compact SUV

Escape

For 2019, the ever-popular Ford Escape is completely redesigned, making it better than ever. Ford’s compact SUV features a slew of upgrades, including four new powertrain options, new sliding second-row seats and the latest technology.

“This all-new Escape brings a sleeker, sportier design with the capability to take you on just about any of your life’s adventures,” said Kumar Galhotra, Ford’s president, North America. “With our class-leading hybrid powertrains, customers will spend less time at the gas station and more time on the road.”

2019 Ford Escape models and specs

The completely redesigned 2020 Ford Escape is available in six trim levels: S, SE, SE Sport, SEL and Titanium. Most of the lineup comes standard with front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is an option. The only exception is the Titanium, which has standard all-wheel drive.

All models boast an exterior with new, sportier body lines and a Mustang-inspired trapezoidal grille. The design is more aerodynamic as well. Streamlining comes from a sloped roofline, liftgate spoiler and smooth undercarriage.

Meanwhile, the five-passenger interior has second-row 60/40 split-fold seats with an all-new sliding feature. The result is more cargo space and greater versatility.

2020 Ford Escape S

The Ford Escape lineup starts with the S model. Standard equipment includes a 1.5L three-cylinder engine (180 hp, 177 lb.-ft.) and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Noteworthy amenities include a 4.2-inch SYNC touchscreen multimedia center and built-in Wi-Fi.

There’s also the Ford Co-Pilot 360 suite of advanced driver assistance systems. The bundle includes Auto High Beam Headlamps, the BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), a Lane Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and a rear-view camera.

2020 Ford Escape SE

Next up is the Ford Escape SE. The model comes with everything found on the S trim, plus, automatic climate control, an upgraded SYNC3 multimedia center with 8-inch display, heated front seats and a power driver’s seat.

2020 Ford Escape SE Sport

The 2020 Ford Escape SE Sport Hybrid comes with a gasoline-electric powertrain. The layout features a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Additional upgrades include a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

2020 Ford Escape SEL

Near the top of the list, there’s the Ford Escape SEL. The well-equipped model comes with everything found on lower trim levels and adds features like sport seats and a heated steering wheel to the mix. A remote start system and reverse sensing system are included as well. Also, a plug-in version of the hybrid system is available.

2020 Ford Escape Titanium

The Ford Escape Titanium is the top-of-the-line model. As such, it comes with additional amenities such as dual-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting, leather-trimmed seats and a B&O premium audio system. The upgraded Ford Co-Pilot 360+ suite – with Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering, as well as Evasive Steering Assist – is also included.
