Ford SYNC 3 Infotainment System Road Trip Tips
While small
cars haven’t been popular sellers in the U.S. over the last few years since the
end of the recent fuel crises, the automotive landscape has once again seen an
uptick in small performance-oriented vehicles. This is why Ford is again
reintroducing the once popular Ford Focus
ST. Unveiled in 2018, the new Focus ST brings many changes to the table,
including a bigger EcoBoost engine with more power than ever before, offers state-of-the-art
technology, one of the most aggressive looks on a small Ford vehicle and so
much more.
More Aggressive Than Ever
One of the
hottest hatchback sedans that was almost too cool for the United States, is
more aggressive and powerful than its predecessor. Powered by a 2.3-liter turbo
four-cylinder engine, which is the same motor as the EcoBoost Ford
Mustang, this European born sedan offers up to 276 HP and up to 310 lb.-ft.
of torque. This is a nice bump from the previous Focus ST’s 252 HP and 270 lb.-ft.
of torque. This engine is mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission,
which makes this model ready for some of the coolest curvy roads that are all
too common in Europe or even a seven-speed automatic transmission with
front-wheel drive.
More Handsome & Striking
The all-new
Focus ST also offers a more handsome and striking appearance with a new grille
that sports a honeycomb-style mesh for added air intake as well as black trim
versus body-colored panels, which gives this vehicle a sportier look than ever
before. The headlamps are also different compared to the regular model, mostly
because it has new LED strips toward the edges that meet the engine hood and
the fenders. Also featuring a large spoiler atop the tailgate, this sporty Ford
sedan offers better air intake and fuel mileage than ever before. Inside this
far from usual sedan you will find Recaro sport seats, power-assisted steering,
an aluminum shift knob and trim, aluminum pedal caps, and a 4.2-inch smart
touch screen.
Ford Sports Sedan with Added Technology
One of the
coolest of European born Ford
cars also brings with it a solid package of leading technology
features. Along with Ford’s fully integrated SYNC3 infotainment system, which
allows you to stay connected hands free while on the road, the newest Ford
Focus ST model also allows you to connect your smartphone via Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto. A FordPass Connect feature even turns this vehicle into a mobile
WiFi hotspot with connectivity for up to 10 devices.
The Focus ST also includes the latest in automotive safety technology like adaptive cruise control, dedicated Sport and Track Modes, Evasive Steering Assist as well as Ford’s first electronic limited-slip differential that enhances stability and cornering by providing sharper responses to driver inputs.
