What You Need to Know About the 2019 Ford Flex Limited
There’s nothing else on the road like the 2019 Ford Flex. The 7-passenger crossover SUV features one-of-a-kind styling and advanced technology. And the top tier Limited model takes things even further by adding an array of first-class amenities.
The 2019 Ford Flex Limited features and specs
The 2019 Ford Flex is available in three trim levels: SE, SEL – and Limited. Model year changes to the Limited include the addition of a standard universal garage door opener. Also, Active Park Assist is now available as a stand-alone option.
Like the rest of the Flex lineup, the Limited sports a distinctive design that’s boxy yet modern. Plus, the Limited gets exterior upgrades, such as HID headlamps, LED taillamps and 19-in. wheels. A power liftgate comes standard and a multipanel Vista Roof is optional, as well.
There’s also a striking Appearance Package available on the Limited. The bundle includes, among other things, an Agate Black roof, Agate Black exterior accents and 20-in. high-gloss black wheels.
Inside, the 7-passenger cabin offers room for the whole family. Passenger volume is an impressive 155.8 cu. ft. There’s also 42.6-in. of front legroom; 44.3-in. of second-row legroom and 33.3-in. of third-row legroom. Cargo volume is 83.3 cu. ft. (behind the first-row); 43.2 cu. ft. (behind the second-row) and 20.0 cu. ft. (behind the third-row).
Plenty of amenities are offered throughout the interior as well. Key features include perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, ambient lighting, a 10-way power driver’s seat, a 6-way power passenger seat, dual-zone automatic temperature control and heated front seats. PowerFold third-row seats – that reconfigure with just a push of a button – are also available.
The Ford Flex Limited comes standard with plenty of power on tap. Motivation comes from a 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 engine (287 hp, 254 lb.-ft.) paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. A more powerful turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost engine (365 hp, 350 lb.-ft.) is an available option. You can also choose between the standard front-wheel drive layout and optional Intelligent All-wheel Drive (AWD).
Naturally, a vehicle as cutting-edge as the Ford Flex Limited offers an abundance of advanced technology. For example, there’s the SYNC® 3 infotainment system with 8-in. touchscreen display. The unit provides access to a wealth of features, such as navigation, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Additional noteworthy tech includes ambient lighting and remote engine start.
The SUV also comes with standard advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert and rain-sensing wipers. Buyers can also upgrade to get even more innovative equipment. Highlights include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support and Active Park Assist.
