Like Cruise Control

Trail Control is kind of like off-road cruise control for the Ford F-150 Raptor. It maintains a set speed which you select, taking some of the stress out of getting through especially tough trail conditions.

With Trail Control, the system manages both the engine throttle and braking. This is how it maintains a set speed, no matter if the truck is traveling on level ground, going up, or moving down a grade. It even keeps the selected speed if the truck goes from level to steep ground, so you don’t need to worry.

Focus on Navigation

When you’re hitting the trail in particularly difficult spots, one of the trickiest things to manage is choosing the best route. With your attention focused so much on navigating the truck, it’s even more challenging to also manage the accelerator and brake pedals.

You can activate Trail Control at speeds of 1 mph to 20 mph, since this feature is obviously intended for low-speed maneuvers. Unlike systems in competing trucks, Trail Control is the only one you can use in all the Ford F-150 Raptor four-wheel-drive modes, which is a huge bonus. That means no matter how tough the challenge, this invaluable asset is at your disposal.

Pull Through Challenges

Traveling on trails or off-road anywhere can suddenly become more difficult than you first thought, even with a truck as capable as the 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor. Trail Control has been designed to give you the extra boost to get out of tricky spots, so you can get on with your adventures.

Facing a steep obstacle can be intimidating. Trail Control helps by automatically directing torque to all four wheels, increasing climbing performance. When you’re going down a steep grade, the system brakes smoothly, so your descent is predictable and controlled.

Sometimes the problem is getting stuck in sand or other loose materials. If you’ve ever been in this situation, you know how frustrating it can be to see the wheels just spin, digging you even deeper. While you can get out a shovel and engage in the back-breaking work of freeing your truck, Trail Control makes freeing yourself so much easier. You set a low speed and the system does the rest, using the tires to gain traction, without slipping constantly and making the situation worse.
