Main trim levels available on the 2019 Ford F-150 include XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. A high-performance Raptor edition is also available. Each F-150 variant comes with a select set of powertrain options, including a total of six engine choices.
Most of the engines come with Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) – a technology that precisely controls engine valve duration – as well as Port-Fuel and Direct-Injection (PFDI) that uses two injectors per cylinder. Both cutting-edge systems help maximize power and efficiency.
The complete lineup of engine options includes the following:
3.3L Ti-VCT V6
2.7L EcoBoost V6
Next, there’s the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 putting out 325 hp and 400-lb.-ft. The unit – standard on Lariat models – Features twin-intercooled turbochargers, Ti-VCT and PFDI.
3.0L Power Stroke turbodiesel V6
The Ford Super Duty has come with a Power Stroke V8 for many years. Now, the popular option is available in the F-150 in the form of a 3.0L Power Stroke V6 making 250 hp and 440 lb.-ft. The engine, which is available on most models, provides best-in-class diesel fuel economy, as well as best-in-class diesel towing and payload when the truck is properly equipped.
3.5L EcoBoost V6
Like other EcoBoost offerings, the 3.5L V6 has twin-intercooled turbochargers, Ti-VCT and PFDI. The engine makes 375 hp and 470 lb.-ft. – enough output to give the F-150 class-leading towing capability when properly equipped. Most models offer the 3.5L EcoBoost as an option.
5.0L Ti-VCT V8
The F-150 offers a modern version of the classic, Ford V8: a 5.0L making 395 hp and 470 lb.-ft. Advanced Ti-VCT and PFDI technologies bring the design into the 21st century. King Ranch models come standard with the eight-cylinder, which provides the truck with best-in-class payload when properly equipped. Also, for those interested in alternative fuels, a Gaseous Engine Prep Package is available, allowing for easy conversion to compressed natural gas or propane.
High-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6
A V6-powered pickup making over 400 hp was unheard of a decade ago. But times have changed, and now, the F-150 Raptor and Limited come with a High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 making 450 hp and 510 lb.-ft. Naturally, the engine has twin-intercooled turbochargers, Ti-VCT and PFDI for maximum performance.
